Hurray! I have an interview/meeting with Juliette Wells from Manhattanville College in New York on Friday. She is here to give the Burke Jane Austen Scholar talk (her title "For the Love of Jane Austen" - why present-day Austen fans so often choose to feature the author in their fiction and nonfiction writing. Perfect for me!).
Now, must prepare my questions. Will post transcript (or as near one as I can write) over the weekend.
Oh, I looked back through my notes after meeting with the professor at St. Mary's College in St. Mary's, Maryland - the professor who teaches a class where the students read some of the books, plays, etc. listed in Jane Austen's novels, but it was rather unfocused. I'm not sure whether that was due to one or both of us, so all I'll do is post a link to his blog, where he often writes about Austen.
Here are a couple of his posts on Northanger Abbey/Udolpho and Austen.

More later - I've written a very long piece about my 6 month check up with regard to this project. It's pretty intense. I may need to post it in parts.
